National Bible Week 2012: Day 4 – Trust and Courage

In the world that we roam, courage and trust is a total different word. These words can be associated with relationship, trials and friendship. In the bible trust and courage has a very thin line. It has its common denominator, our God, Jesus Christ. If you are courage to take on the responsibility or take on the challenges of life, you have trust in God. If you have trust in God and believe in Him, you will believe that everything is possible and there is nothing you can do just trust in God, that’s courage.

I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you … No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you. Joshua 1:3-9

The culture of the Philippines involves a lot of courage and trust. Ever since, the country is fighting for its freedom, we trust the first leaders of the country to cut our nation’s chains of slavery. Fighting for what is right is courage, fighting for the country’s freedom is courage but is this our Lord teach us?

David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.

1 Chronicles 28:20

Trust and Courage

The courage that our Lord is referring to is the courage to take responsibility. When we hear the word responsibility it’s scary. We are scared that we are not going out of our comfort zone, we just want are the things that we usually do, things that works and things that we already have. We are afraid to take up more responsibility that it will cause a catastrophe in the cycle of our comfort zone. The Lord teaches us here to have the courage to stand up for what are the most important in life and do not be afraid for God is always in us.

Courage is the bi-product of having trust with God. Trust is handing it over to the superior that are more experienced in handling situations. It is letting go of the circumstance even if it is so impossible to believe that it will really work. Trust is beyond human comprehension, it is above all the value that we have. Trust is sometimes we call, little miracles, since we let God move to our lives when we passed by our problems it is already a miracle.

Definitely the limitation of science is God. It’s God who really knew what will happen it is written already on His book. If we Filipinos let God lead our nation, there will be no poor and there will be peace in the land.
