2Am Thoughts: Blogging Absence

Busy, busy, busy and still busy. Yes, I am busy as an army of bees. Maybe stress also get a toll of me. I got sick from time to time. I can’t put a little bit of my time in blogging. My mind is blank, with nothing in it just a limbo of worthlessness.

People really put a lot of work in their schedules clogging it with nothing but stress. Blogging for me is really stress reliever and putting my sanity back where it belongs. Then all of my time was spent on following orders and following on the last orders before a new order came. I need to put an end to this. Though what I am thinking is pretty tough, but it is not impossible. I need to fortify the battle plan for this and prepare to the consequence it may lead us into. It’s like a death wish travelling from Antipolo to Ortigas if I have to die every day for my family I will. I need also to resolve my sleeping disorders, I need a doctor for this one. I am always sleepy.

There are a lot of factors why I skip blog lately. The mind wants but the body can’t execute.

Hoping to get better.

When Was the Last Time I Made a Web App

Silver Surfer
Web Development

The sword is really rusty for me, since I started on being a service engineer, I missed the times I created something from scratch and presented it to a client. Reminiscing those good old days, well there is no excuse to create something like that today.

From the previous post I discussed on how to power up your machine with Symfony. Then next we will create small system that will use our framework. Here we will create the concept of our Web Application.

What you should learn first

Framework is for advanced users actually, so what you need first in building your next web application.

HTML – This is the framework of your work, your skeleton. This is where it will start, this is where it will end. You need to learn this one first since you are working with tags mostly and you will embed it either in PHP or in Javascript.

Javascript – You have your skeleton, we need a soul, this is the interaction begins. Javascript is the one you can rely on user experience definitely a taker.

PHP – Basic PHP will do, just need to understand the starts and the exits of the code and its function, its purpose. You need a debugger on this one since you need to track on how it works.

These three are the fundamentals the next are the secondary skill you should know but as equal important, since you are on your own.

CSS – Learn the basics, try it for yourself, try a few codes and see what it can do. These are all cosmetic but equally important as the first three.

Design – Not all people can design, not all people has taste. Have few tutorials online on how to create interfaces. These are essential also that goes hand in hand with the function of your web application.

I already mentioned some tools of the trade on creating a website here is the list. Next will be the concept.

We will start creating a simple web page first before the hard ones.

I Got Domain : The Keyword Research

This is the first step which I should not miss, I already got a domain for the family, and it’s called Tajanlangit.org. I purchased it last year but I just recently explored it and upload some CMS to start with. I am looking into monetizing it immediately but I should focus on what could be the content of the blog. Well before your blog become popular, the reader should have a reason to go back for some more.

It is hard really to start the content without a main topic which you will be consistently tackled along in a blog.

This is the toughest part for me since I have no experience in targeting keywords or drill down to a more specific topic. Since it is a family website, I would target a family related topic so that people that look for answers about family needs I can serve it on my blog.

It is stated in SEOMOZ Beginner’s Guide To SEO “It is not about getting your visitors to your site, but about getting the right kind of visitors”.

So I probably stick on the family related keywords… But first I will get the website up by now.
